FINN HARPS and Shamrock Rovers had to be content with a share of the spoils following their hard fought battle in Finn Park, on Saturday night.

Rovers will have been more pleased with the result particularly since that Harps created the best of Jonathan Speak had Harps' first real chance in the 40th minute but he blasted his shot straight at Robert Horgan. Four minutes later David Platt made a fine save from Paul Whelan as Rovers sought to break the deadlock.

Lee Williams could have put Rovers ahead in the 47th minute but hit his shot straight at Platt and from then on it was all Harps. Speak and substitute Marty McCann both had chances in the 64th minute but neither could find the target.

David Dowling had Harps last serious effort in the 78th minute but saw his effort whistle past the post to safety.
