Regent House of Newtownards won their first-ever All-Ireland Schools' finals at Wesley College yesterday, pipping Cork's Mount Mercy to victory by a single point. Two goals from Irish under-18 international Carley Morrow in each of the Ulster champions' final two matches helped them reach a total of nine points, while Mount Mercy finished on eight after scoreless draws against Loreto Wexford and Wesley College.

Regent earned their success by producing two superb displays, but there was a great deal of sympathy for the Cork school, whose players finish the season unbeaten in all competitions (including the All-Ireland finals).
