CARLOW SHC FINAL (replay): Mt Leinster Rangers 2-12 Naomh Eoin (Myshall) 3-5:MOUNT Leinster Rangers claimed the Willie O'Connor Cup for the fourth time at Dr Cullen Park yesterday with a storming second half.

Before referee Paud O’Dwyer had thrown in the ball players became involved in a fracas. Naomh Eoin struck for a sixth-minute goal from Brian “Red” Murphy, only for Rangers to reply with one from Denis Murphy on 10 minutes and the sides were level at 1-3 apiece at half-time.

In the 42nd minute a long Rangers free was tapped to the net by Willie Hickey. Naomh Eoin were not finished as Robbie Foley goaled (2-8 to 2-5) but the final quarter belonged to Rangers.
