Louth 1-11 Lietrim 2-7 Louth recorded their third consecutive win of the campaign by beating Leitrim more comfortably than the scoreline suggests at Ardee, yesterday.
The home side led throughout after corner forward JP Rooney opened the scoring with a goal inside the first minute.
Louth led by four points with the game three minutes into injury time when Seamus Quinn found the bottom corner of Stuart Reynolds' s goal.
However, time was up, much to the annoyance of the visitors who hadn't time to try to salvage a point.
Following Louth's bright start with Mark Stanfield adding a point to Rooney's goal in the second minute, the home side lost their spark but still led 1-6 to 0-5 at the break.
The opening half was spoiled by a torrential downpour of rain and hail.
