Many Irish golf clubs now have their own Internet websites but they mainly feature green fee information, lists of facilities available, directions to the course and maybe a copy of the card. In short, they are geared for visitors, not members.

An honourable exception in Ashbourne in County Meath (www.iol.ie/ashgc). While the standard information is included, Webmaster Tony Dooley has the interests of locals at heart and club results, team news and information on social events are all prominent on the site and frequently updated. If you are looking for an example of how to do it properly, it's not a bad place to start. Links to Irish clubs are available from several places on the Internet including the Golfing Union of Ireland site at www.gui.ie.
