Guess who's favourite this week? No prizes for guessing Colin Montgomerie, even if the Scot has endured his poorest start to a season in many a moon. Monty will be chasing a fourth successive win in this week's Volvo PGA championship at Wentworth - a course he adores - and, on the evidence of the past two weeks, he has seems to have sorted out most of the faults in his game.

Even at odds of 7 to 1, Montgomerie is sure to give punters a run for their money . . . but more enticing prices lie elsewhere, not least with the 20 to 1 that is on offer for the two Irish players Darren Clarke and Padraig Harrington. Both players like this course and, in Clarke's case, this time of the year tends to be particularly good to him. Clarke was the halfway leader in this event two years ago (before being ruined by a catastrophic third round) and finished second last year. Perhaps a case of third time lucky?

So, Clarke (who has already won in South Africa and Japan this year) to finally break his duck on the European Tour this season with a win and Adam Scott, who is on offer at 66 to 1, as the saving each-way bet.

7/1 - Colin Montgomerie (Scot).
