Anderson’s 127 marks day one of Ireland’s ICC game against the Netherlands

Spinner Doram (15) takes five wickets for Dutch at Deventer

Two exceptional Intercontinental Cup debuts marked the first day of Ireland's four-day clash with the Netherlands in Deventer yesterday.

Merrion opening batsman John Anderson scored his maiden century for Ireland in his sixth appearance to backbone a first innings total of 332, with 15-year-old Dutch spinner Daniel Doram claiming five wickets on his debut on a day when 115 overs were bowled.

Anderson survived a chance on 97 to go on and claim his debut century off 246 balls before eventually departing for 127 in the final session of the day.

Skipper Kevin O'Brien made 48, while John Mooney made a valuable 63 runs at number seven to get Ireland past 300 in their first innings.
