David Cuddy (Laois half forward): Has to be one of the top defenders in the game at the moment. Has done it all really and his vast experience showed again in our game. Playing unbelievable hurling for this stage of his career and his motivation on the field makes him a great team leader. Will stick to you like glue and still has his pace and ability to strike from way out. Hasn't shown any weakness this year and probably one of the most valuable members of the team.

Michael White (Waterford corner forward): A lot of people had written him off after last year but he's proved again to be one of the most exceptional players around. Read the game exceedingly well against us and knows all the tricks of the trade. Probably in line for another All Star and a great example to all young hurlers. If he has a weakness it might be his speed but he makes up for that with his skill and I think Sunday's game may come down to a battle of the backs which makes O'Connor so important to the team.
