RACING:JOHNNY MURTAGH'S hectic, transatlantic schedule pitches him back home at Leopardstown this Bank Holiday less than 24 hours after securing a French St Leger victory at Longchamp on board the star stayer Yeats.

Murtagh flew to Paris after a frustrating 48 hours at the Breeders' Cup in Santa Anita in California, where a pair of second placings on Heart Shaped and Westphalia were the best he could manage from 10 rides.

However, the former champion jockey managed to get Aidan O'Brien's attempt on a world record total of 26 Group One wins in a year back on track in yesterday's Prix Royal Oak.

Yeats became the champion trainer's 22nd top-flight victory of the year when he broke his Longchamp duck in style after two disappointing efforts in the Prix du Cadran over the same course.
