Mountain Song wins feature

Mountain SONG benefited from an inspired Seb Sanders ride to land the feature Complete Group Conditions Stakes at Windsor yesterday. The subject of some keen support in the betting exchanges, Sanders's mount led throughout, repelling nearest pursuer, the 10 to 11 favourite Dokos, by one and three quarter lengths.

The Newmarket-based trainer Pat Gilligan had his second winner when Petrovna won the Tattersalls Maiden Stakes at 10 to 1, while Cubism, at 13 to 2, returned to winning ways in good style in the 49 Nursery Handicap.

Pegnitz was supported as if defeat was out of the question in the opening Weatherbys Turf Newspapers Maiden Stakes. But punters taking 2 to 7 about Clive Britton's charge had to sweat a little before the three-year-old - taking a considerable drop in class - lengthened to a two-length success over Copernicus.
