WOMEN'S EUROPEAN TOUR:NEW WORLD number one and defending champion Ai Miyazato of Japan leads a strong international field in France for the Evian Masters today.

US Women’s Open champion Paula Creamer and recent LPGA champion Cristie Kerr will also be teeing it up beside Lake Geneva.

And South African Lee-Anne Pace is determined to take inspiration from British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen.

Pace, who plays at the same club as Oosthuizen in Mossel Bay, celebrated her maiden Ladies European Tour victory at the Swiss Open a month ago.

The 29-year-old, second on the European money list behind Laura Davies, is hoping for a strong finish at Evian-les-Bains, where she is one of 111 competitors in a field containing 24 of the world’s top-25 players.

She tees off today alongside 15-year-old US sensation Alexis Thompson, who is playing in her third event as a professional.
