A powerful Meath side completely dominated the second half to run out easy, 1-16 to 0-9 winners over Longford at Pearse Park on Saturday evening to book their passage to the Leinster Minor Football championship semifinals.

Deadlocked at six points apiece at the break, there was no further score until the ninth minute of the second half when Ken Gannon fired Meath back in front. Further points by Brian Newman, Ronan Fitzsimons and Gannon followed.
