French Rugby union president Bernard Lapasset expressed surprise yesterday at the International Olympic Committee's decision not to place creatine on its list of banned substances and warned French players they face suspension for taking it.

Lapasset reacted last week to the promotion of the muscle-building product in the Rugby World magazine by saying he intended to lobby against creatine and demand it be placed on the IOC list of banned doping products.
