Home Internationals: Ireland bounced back from their Home Internationals opening day defeat by Scotland at Dunbar to overwhelm Wales 7-2 yesterday.

There was rarely any doubt about the outcome as the Irish took an early stranglehold on proceedings by winning all three morning foursomes.

Only in the top match did Niamh Kitching and Tara Delaney stumble early on to be one down to Sahra Hassan and Rebecca Harries but they quickly got their act together, were in front by the turn and triumphed on the 17th..

Danielle McVeigh and Marian Riordan were always too good for Lydia Hall and Lucy Gould and wrapped things up 4 and 2 with Maura Morrin and Gillian O'Leary also winning on the 16th.

Delaney continued her fine form in the afternoon singles with a 3 and 2 victory over Tara Davies while McVeigh defeated Sahra Hassan 2 and 1. Gillian O'Leary, celebrating her return to the international side, dispatched Rebecca Helen Harries on the home green while Niamh Kitching won both the 17th and 18th for victory.

England crushed Scotland 7½-1½ and are now on course for a 13th title in 16 years.
