HOME FARM/Everton's season hit the depths at Whitehall on Saturday night as Bray continued their recent good form with Kieran O'Brien striking the crucial score on 40 minutes to all but consign Farm to the drop to Division One.
Dermot Keely, Home farm's supremo had conceded that this was perhaps his side's last hurraah. It was not be with O'Brien's speculative strike going under the body of Robert Forde just before the interval.
Opposing mentor, Pat Devlin had every reason to feel pleased, with keeper John Walsh keeping his fifth clean sheet in six games. But he emphasised that nothing less than victories over Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers would suffice if they were to remain in the top flight.
The game was a particularly dour encounter with not much in terms of goal-mouth incident.
O'Brien's strike helped to settle the visitors but again it was Walsh's agile reflexes that kept the hosts at bay when he prevented an almost certain equaliser as he spread himself well to block Gareth Kelly's downward header shortly after the break.
