THE trainer Paul Kelleway yesterday scoffed at a dismissive quote of 50 to 1 for his Dubai Champion Stakes challenger Glory of Dancer.
Bookmakers are clearly of the opinion that Saturday's £200,000 added Group One spectacular, shaping up into one of the races of the season, rests between Halling and Bosra Sham.
The pair are a best priced 6 to 4 and 7 to 4 respectively with Irish contender Timarida, at 4 to 1, the only other of the eight strong entry to gain a single figure quote.
But Kelleway, who has booked French jockey Olivier Peslier for Glory of Dancer, is optimistic the colt can emulate his 1978 winner Swiss Maid.
Even Top, quoted at a best priced 12 to 1 is another out to steal the thunder of the big two. The Mark Tompkins trained colt, beaten an inch by Mark Of Esteem in the 2000 Guineas, is reported in fine fettle. He will be ridden by Richard Quinn.
The John Oxx trained Timarida has secured three Group One victories already this season, last time claiming the scalps of Glory of Dancer and Shaamit in the Irish Champion Stakes.
