FR GODFREY CUP:ST GERARD'S School and St Andrew's College will meet in the Leinster Schools Fr Godfrey Junior Cup final once their involvement in the Leinster Junior Cup has come to an end.
St Gerard’s had the style of former Ireland outhalf Tony Ward in their 12-10 victory over CUS all through their creative back play, with centre Adam Simmonds and fullback Mark Gallagher on the end of two clean moves.
Simmonds’ conversion of his own try was the difference.
CUS left wing Louis McConkey and number eight Cormac O’Cleirigh struck for tries that kept them in it right up until the final whistle.
The combined scoring power of St Andrew’s openside Johnny Guy – he pinched a hat-trick of tries – and ace marksman Jordan Larmour, who nabbed a brace and 10 points from the boot, was too much for High School in their 33-10 win in Maynooth, despite two excellent tries from their number eight Daragh McDonnell.
