Colomiers scrumhalf Fabien Galthie could miss France's Six Nations encounter against Ireland in Dublin next Saturday after picking up a 10-day ban, the French Rugby League (LNR) said yesterday.
Galthie picked up a second yellow card away to French league rivals Montferrand on Saturday. He was banned after already being sin-binned during his side's home match against Montferrand in September.
With suspensions also including international matches, Galthie should miss the Six Nations clash here unless his club's appeal to the LNR disciplinary commission on Wednesday is successful.
A substsitute at the start of the match, Galthie came on in yesterday's match only to be sinbinned for involvement in a fracas.
Meanwhile, England's Dan Luger will see a specialist early next week to gauge the extent of a neck injury suffered during their Six Nations stroll against Wales last Saturday.
Wing Luger missed Saracens' English Premiership clash against Sale yesterday. He lasted just seven minutes of the Millennium Stadium Test after being hurt in a tackle, and was replaced by Austin Healey as England coasted home 44-15.
It is unclear at this stage whether he will be fit for England's Six Nations appointment with Italy at Twickenham on Saturday.
Italian outhalf Diego Dominguez has vowed to be fit for his team's Six Nations match against France next month.
Dominguez, ruled out of Italy's defeat against Ireland last weekend, added to coach Brad Johnstone's woes this week when it was confirmed he would also miss Saturday's game against England.
But he has said he expects to be fit for the France match on March 3rd in Rome.
"I just need some rest for a few days. I'll be ready for the game against France," he said.
Gloucester owner Tom Walkinshaw has rejected coach Philippe Saint-Andre's resignation offer in the wake of Saturday's crushing home defeat against English Premiership rivals Wasps.
The European Cup semi-finalists slumped 28-3, leaving themselves marooned in mid-table and prompting Saint-Andre to consider quitting.
Saint-Andre met the millionaire motor racing boss immediately after the match, and told him that he was prepared to end his Kingsholm reign.
But Walkinshaw quickly dismissed any notion of the coach walking away, even though Gloucester's season now hinges totally on a European Cup last-four clash with English champions Leicester in 10 ten weeks.
"I am sick, so sick, to have seen this performance," the former France national team captain," said yesterday.
"How we can do so well against Cardiff in the European Cup a fortnight ago, and then play the worst game of the season? I do not understand.
"We had no credibility and no intelligence out there," he added, after Wasps pulled away to rack up 17 unanswered second-half points.
