FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION FOUR: London 0-9 Fermanagh 2-15:FERMANAGH'S VISIT to Ruislip yesterday was considerably more pleasant than their last one. Peter Canavan's side were comfortable winners against London, gaining a measure of revenge for last June's shock defeat in the All-Ireland qualifiers.

A 10-minute first-half spell aside, Fermanagh were always in control. They established a 0-5 to 0-0 lead after 15 minutes, before Séamus Hannon opened London’s account with a 17th-minute point.

That marked the beginning of a productive spell but Fermanagh moved swiftly back into the ascendancy and the led 1-9 to 0-5 at the break. The goal came courtesy of a Séamus Quigley penalty after Paul Ward had been taken down by Seán McVeigh just before half-time. Fermanagh extended their lead after the restart and it took London 20 minutes to register their first score of the half – a Seán Kelly point – which left them trailing by 1-12 to 0-6. Kelly, Seán McVeigh and Fearghal McVey added further points but any chance of a London resurgence was dashed when Ryan Keenan’s superb goal sealed game.
