The Jersey Seniors Open got off to a flying start yesterday with Ireland's Arnold O'Connor holing his second shot on the 478-yards par-five sixth hole at La Moye GC for the first albatross of his life.

"It's the first time I've had an albatross," he said after opening with one-under-par 71. "I played well all day but that shot was definitely the highlight." David Jones also opened with a 71, to trail leader Jan Dorrestein by four shots.
