David Duval sank a 15-foot birdie putt on the first play-off hole to defeat Grant Waite and Duffy Waldorf and claim his first career PGA Tour victory in the Michelob Championship at Williamsburg, Virginia, yesterday.

Duval, 25, had entered the final round three shots behind Waldorf. He fired a four-under 67 for 13-under 271 to make the play-off.
