KIEREN FALLON, who rode no fewer than 10 winners last week, including two Yeast and Dazzle at Royal Ascot, continued in inspired form at Musselburgh yesterday when completing a 20 to 1 treble on Fonzy, Ambidextrous and Perilous Plight.

Fallon, who is chasing Pat Eddery in the jockeys' championship, now has 62 winners to his credit and is well on course to better his 92 successes of last year and record his first ever century.

"Thing are going better than I could possibly wish for, and long may it continue," said Fallon, who paid a fulsome tribute to his agent, David Pollington.

"I'm lucky to be where I am in the jockeys' table, and it's all down to David getting me the best rides. I wouldn't have ridden as many winners if I were choosing my own mounts," he admitted with a smile before playing down his claims on the title.

"I wouldn't have the ammunition of say Pat Eddery and Richard Quinn. I'm just pleased to be in second place at the moment and I'm just hoping that my winners don't dry up too quickly," he added modestly.

Preston trainer Eric Alston is a big fan of Fallon's riding ability and, having given the Irishman the leg up on Bold Elect, a short head winner at Redcar on Saturday, he was glowing in his praise after seeing him land a one and a half length success on Ambidextrous in the East Lothian Insurance Handicap.

"Keiren is riding brilliantly," enthused Alston. "How he won on Bold Elect on Saturday, I just don't know. I think with any other jockey on board, the horse would have finished only fourth."

Fallon kicked off his treble with an all the way win on Linda Stubbs tough Fonzy, who had been beaten a head at Goodwood last Friday.
