Lightly raced Approvance made it three wins from four starts this term for Curragh handler Jimmy Lenehan when taking the featured Bluebird Platinum Stakes in fine style at Cork yesterday.

Pat Shanahan oozed confidence aboard the Sheikh Mohamme-downed gelding, leading well over a furlong out and striding clear to beat Keriyoun by three and a half lengths.

"He could step up to Group company for the Desmond Stakes at the Curragh in two weeks, or carry a penalty there in the listed Solonaway Stakes next month," said Lenehan.

Show Me The Money had to work much harder to take the other listed event on the card, the Desert King Stakes. Noel Meade's filly, successful over the course and distance earlier this term, finished strongly under John Murtagh to touch off favourite Coralita by three-quarters of a length.

Local trainer Colman Hennessy recorded his first success when Walyunga proved a shock winner of the Oscar Handicap Chase. The nine-year-old mare struck the front two out under Kieran Gaule to beat Dook's Delight by one and a half lengths.

Windy Bee made most for Garrett Cotter to take the Flemensfirth Beginners' Chase in impressive fashion, with a blunder at the last the only blemish in an 11-length victory over Fabriano.
