Keith Doyle has been called in to the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad for the European Championship qualifier against Macedonia on Friday. The St Patrick's Athletic defender was called up by manager Ian Evans following the withdrawal of Brentford's Danny Boxall.
The game is scheduled to be played in Tetevo, which is 38kms from Skopje, but obviously, as for the senior game, UEFA have to decide on whether it goes ahead or not in the light of the Kosovo crisis. The Irish party is due to fly out on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Brian Kerr has called up Paul Donnolly (Leeds United) and Tommy Doherty (Bristol City) for the Irish under-20 squad that departs for Nigeria next week. The players replace Damien Lynch (Leeds United) and Alan Quinn (Sheffield Wednesday) who have withdrawn due to injury.
There is also an injury concern about Everton's Richard Dunne and Kerr has put Coventry's Barry Ferguson on stand by.
