Bray W 0 Derry City 4:THREE GOALS to the good against 10 men well before half-time, Derry eased to the top of the table at the Carlisle Grounds last night. Bray may feel aggrieved by the sending off of goalkeeper Darren Quigley in what appeared to have been a case of mistaken identity but Pat Devlin's side were already 2-0 down at that stage

Derry took the lead on 19 minutes through Paddy McEleney. Route one brought Derry’s second goal seven minutes later and David McDaid raced clear to flick it over Quigley. It got worse for Bray on 33 minutes when Quigley was sent off. Rory Patterson rounded Quigley and was taken down in a combined challenge by the goalkeeper and defender Pierce Sweeney who was the one who appeared to get the crucial trip. But Anthony Buttimer sent off Quigley and Patterson sent goalkeeper Brian Kane.

Patterson scored a sublime fourth goal on 57 minutes as he cut inside Dane Massey before sweeping the ball past Kane.

BRAY WANDERERS: Quigley; Doyle, Sweeney (G. Kelly, h/t), Massey, Houston; Hanlon, Zambra, D O’Connor, Knight (Kane, 34 mins); Byrne (Bolger, 84 mins), Waters.
