ANTHONY DALY will return as the Dublin senior hurling manager for a fourth campaign. The 41-year-old All-Ireland -winning captain with Clare, in 1995 and 1997, confirmed his intention to stay in charge for at least another season at a reception hosted by Dublin sponsors Vodafone yesterday.
The county board is due to ratify Daly at their next meeting on October 10th but this seems a formality considering the success this year of winning the National League and reaching the All-Ireland semi-final.
“It is good news,” said county board chairman Andy Kettle. “We are delighted for the continuity Anthony will bring and it should provide the impetus for the hurlers to crack on and get Liam MacCarthy.”
Whether Daly’s management team will also remain has yet to be clarified.
Tomorrow – All-Ireland Camogie Junior A Final replay: Armagh v Westmeath, Donaghmore Ashbourne, 2.30pm.
