AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION Drogheda Utd 4 St Patrick's Athletic 3:A SEVEN-goal thriller saw Drogheda end their season in style. The Saints were gifted the opening goal after nine minutes when keeper Stephen Trimble was beaten by David McMillan's speculative 30-yard shot.

Drogheda levelled matters after half an hour from the penalty spot when Dave Rogers converted after Conor Kenna upended Gavin Brennan. Directly from the tip-off United hit the front when Tiarnan Mulvenna found Dinny Corcoran who fired past Gary Rogers.

Just before the break St Pat’s were back on terms as McMillan found the net for a second time.

St Pat’s went back in front after 48 minutes via Seán O’Connor’s free-kick. Drogheda equalised five minutes later after Mulvenna cracked a superb shot past Rogers.

But Corcoran had the final say for Drogheda as he spotted Rogers off his line and beat the ’keeper from 40 yards with a superb shot.
