RACING: One Cool Cat has been installed as favourite to continue the rehabilitation of his colossal reputation in tomorrow's Nunthorpe Stakes.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt was one of 17 entries left in the five-furlong sprint at yesterday's declaration stage for the Group One feature.

It will be One Cool Cat's first top-level start since he managed only second-last in the 2,000 Guineas, but a return to sprint distances appeared to work the oracle when One Cool Cat won the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh just 10 days ago.

Paddy Power make the Irish star a 9 to 4 favourite, with The Tatling next best at 11 to 2 and Airwave a 6 to 1 third favourite.

Today, O'Brien has set his sights on the Totesport Ebor at York with Mikado and he can land a second triumph in the prestigious race.

Mikado was twice a winner as a juvenile and he made a satisfactory reappearance in the Curragh Cup when he finished fourth behind Mkuzi, looking as though he would improve for that outing.

But Hazarista is fancied to reverse form with dual Oaks heroine Ouija Board in the Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks. John Oxx's filly was third, two lengths behind Ouija Board, in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh last time but she was ridden to get the 12-furlong trip that day and was really left with plenty to do.

The daughter of Barathea looks to be an improving type and she should feature more prominently here.

There is nothing with any Group One aspirations at Sligo this evening, but Oriental Ben represents a top level pedigree in the six-furlong claimer and maybe the old horse can come out on top.

It's a long time since Oriental Ben tried six furlongs but with rain forecast on top of ground described as "good to yielding," his stamina might swing it his way against the 75 rated Soranna.

Oriental Ben's trainer Tony Mullins will also have a big interest in the last where he gives Emmpat a first start since finishing third to King Of Spades at the Galway festival.
