Coláiste Eoin 1-11 Dublin North 1-4COLÁISTE EOIN made the most of a strong, stiff breeze that blew their way in the first half during yesterday's Leinster Colleges Senior Hurling A League round-two clash in Belfield.

On what was a challenging evening at the UCD venue, Coláiste Eoin, under former Dublin hurler Aodhán De Paor, had scored five points without reply, which included two from their midfield pairing of Colm Ó Croinín and Jack Ó Faoláin.

Although Dublin North’s Paul Winters opened his team’s account with a free after 20 minutes, Coláiste Eoin found the back of the net in the next attack through Ó Croinín.

Three more points followed to leave the Stillorgan school ahead by 1-8 to 0-1 at the break and despite a change in personnel up front in the final quarter, Dublin North, who were missing marquee forwards Ciarán Kilkenny and Cormac Costello, had to wait until the 57th minute when Ciarán Smith grabbed a goal for them.
