Despite failing to score in the opening 11 minutes Carlow proved too strong for Waterford at Dungarvan on Saturday evening. Waterford were to rue two missed goal opportunities in the opening period and it was Carlow who went in leading at the interval by 1-4 to 0-6, Mark Carpenter getting the opening goal.
