Portumna club captain John Holohan is proving that being in office is in no way affecting his golfing exploits. Only recently Holohan recorded one of those rare feats, a hole-in-one, when he aced the 10th, a new par three which has just opened this year.
John was playing in a club classic at the time, but unfortunately his bit of luck didn't get his team into the winning enclosure. However, he was presented with a piece of crystal to mark his achievement.
Yet, Holohan has figured in other events since taking on the role of captain. He has already featured in two medal competitions and is hopeful of winning one of the events before his term in office is up.
