GOLF: Captain Ada O'Sullivan was full of praise for her Britain and Ireland battlers after they had finished joint eighth in the World women's amateur team golf championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy in Kuala Lumpur at the weekend.

"It was a fantastic team performance especially when one remembers the terrible start we made. We were two under par today,12 better than in the first round.

"They showed total commitment and concentration. Our goal today was to finish in the top 10 and that is exactly what we have done.

"Everyone has contributed to the week and if the first day had been different who knows what might have happened," said the former Irish International from Cork.
