Bolton seek quick return to Wembley

Bolton begin their assault on another Wembley appearance when they take on Third Division Darlington in the first round of the English League Cup.

Colin Todd's team were left despondent after their 2-0 Division One play-off final defeat by Watford last month, which denied them an immediate return to the top flight.

Bolton were runners-up in the competition four years ago when Liverpool defeated them 2-1.

They return to the north-east after defeating Hartlepool at the same stage last year.
