AIRTRICITY LEAGUE, PREMIER DIVISION: Bohemians 2 UCD 0:PAT FENLON wants his emerging talent at Bohemians to enjoy the biggest week of their careers.

Under the guidance of first-team captain Owen Heary, Bohemians host St Patrick’s Athletic in the final of the Leinster Senior Cup tonight. Several of that team will then be involved in the big FAI Cup semi-final against holders Sligo Rovers back at Dalymount on Sunday.

While the old guard of Heary, Liam Burns and Ollie Cahill shored up their defence on Saturday night, Fenlon’s front five had an average age of just 20.

Christy Fagan and Keith Buckley, who got the goals, along with Ryan McEvoy, Stephen Traynor and Gary Burke ran UCD ragged as Bohemians should have won by far more.

Bad defending was clinically punished as Bohemians took the lead on 23 minutes when Buckley put Fagan in to score.

McEvoy shaved a post before Bohemians finally scored again on the counter-attack right on 90 minutes when Traynor put Buckley away to shoot into the bottom corner. Substitute Anto Flood should have made it 3-0 in stoppage time, but ballooned a penalty over the bar.
