Sir, - It would appear that the invisible cyclist is in turn afflicted with several grave conditions - the invisible pedestrian, the invisible traffic light and the invisible no-right-turn sign. No wonder, then, that they find cycling in the city so difficult.
I am sure that vying with oncoming traffic whose light is green is a truly hair-raising experience, particularly when one has no idea why several angry car drivers are enthusiastically giving you a one or two-fingered salute. Or maybe there is a completely separate (and highly secret) set of Rules of the Road that applies only to cyclists?
Perhaps the Government could fund some research into why red lights, pedestrian crossings and myriad other road signs are visible only to motorists. I'm sure this phenomenon would save hundreds of put-upon cyclists' lives, if only we could understand it! - Yours, etc.,
