Madam, - Ah, the joys of summer. Driving along the N7, one sees the rich yellow of ragwort blooming in nearly every field and all along the roadside. It's good to see farmers and local authorities ignoring that namby-pamby noxious weeds legislation.
Farmers' payments from the State require the land to be in good agricultural shape, so I assume that the majority of farmers' payments are being cut because of their "noxious weeds". How brave of them to take a stand against the nanny state and deny themselves payment to protect the "buachallán buí". - Yours, etc,
