Sir, - It has come to my attention that our Taoiseach, Mr Bertie Ahern, has opened a large number of licensed premises in the current session of our Government.
May I respectfully suggest that he would serve both himself, his party and our country best by perhaps controlling or closing some of these licensed premises? Currently there is an epidemic of alcoholism and drug abuse, particularly affecting our young people; and thus he may inadvertently be giving the wrong signal to this coming generation. - Yours, etc.,
