Sir, – Readers who enjoyed the articles on Herbert Park (Bernice Harrison and Pamela Duncan, Life & Culture, August 22nd) may also enjoy these lines from American poet John Berryman's Dream Song 344(entitled Herbert Park, Dublin): "on this éxquisite October Sunday, the great bright green spaces under the fine sun, children ducks dogs, two superb elms, the scene Henry overwhelms". It is good to know that people are still enjoying what Berryman called "this most exquisite of parks" – and the ducks – as much as he did when he lived in nearby Lansdowne Park for the academic year of 1966-67. – Yours, etc,
