Sir, - Freedom of speech and expression are very important values in democratic societies. Therefore, it is my belief that the Drumcree Orange parade should have been permitted. After all, it does not mean anything any more. The main reason for the Loyal Orange Institution being in existence i.e. preservation of the status quo in Ulster, has been eliminated by recent political changes in the province.
