Labour’s electoral ambitions
A chara, – Kenneth Harper (January 5th) refers to Brendan Howlin’s claim that he has no disagreements with Jeremy Corbyn’s political programme for Britain.
Before Mr Corbyn was elected Labour leader, Mr Howlin declared that it would be a disaster for Labour in Britain were he to win.
As for stealing the electoral clothes of the Social Democrats, we have to judge Labour’s current protestations against the reality of what it did in government.
It has never acknowledged that it was wrong to do what it did – which was to impose austerity on the class it claimed to represent in order to protect the rich and their friends in Europe.
Until Labour honestly faces up to that fact, its actions will never be forgotten nor will it be forgiven. – Is mise,
