Foul play suspected

Sir, – According to a PA report (Home News, April 15th) the young woman whose ancient bones have been found in Co Fermanagh had what “wasn’t a normal internment”. When was internment ever “normal” – in Northern Ireland or anywhere else?

Is the 15th or 16th century dating not too early for the “element of conquest” evoked by Principal Inspector Dr John O’Keeffe? Surely the territories of the Maguires did not experience conquest until the 17th century! – Yours, etc,
