Sir, - It has become apparent that, with the introduction of wheelie bins, the supply of food for foxes has been withdrawn in many areas. They are now scavenging in areas which put them in danger.
Could I suggest that people interested in their welfare might leave food for the foxes, particularly at this time of the year when they are young? Besides meat and bones they will happily accept cat or dog food and vegetables. Food should be left in the same area and be available on a regular basis. It is very interesting to observe them at night when they come for food. They are not harmful and it is sad to see them so hungry. - Yours, etc.,
Ann Duggan, McCabe Villas, Booterstown, Co Dublin.
