Sir, - What's all this fuss about a "waste management crisis" in Dublin? What's wrong with the waste management strategy employed by many of our fellow countrymen? Dump the waste in the alleys and streets of the city or, failing that, in the lay-bys, forests and beaches of our surrounding countryside. The advantages are clear: large areas of land which can be used, councils who rarely, if ever, enforce the laws and natives who either don't notice or don't care enough to protest about it.The only disadvantage is that the tourists might stop coming; but sure the way the country looks now, that might happen anyway. - Yours, etc.,Lynda Sisson,Dublin 16.
