A chara, - At the Oireachtas Committee on the Constitution, Dr James Clinch, retired consultant obstetrician/gynaecologist, former master of the Coombe, in his statement gave what could contain the simplest wording for a referendum.
He said: "I could work very happily with a law that said `you must not directly kill an unborn baby'. That would not restrict me in any way in dealing with any of my patients".
He has summed up the whole situation in a few words - and the fewer the better in any wording. - Yours, etc.,
