Sir,– I was a boarder in Sligo in the 1950s and many of my companions were from Donegal and further afield. They joked about the Sligo, Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway (SLNCR) bus-train (a single-deck bus, converted to run on railway lines) and called it, probably unfairly, the “Slow Late Never Come Regular”. – Yours, etc,
