Sir, - Have "Boots the Chemists" taken leave of their senses? I cannot believe that the current "refit" of the Hayes, Conyngham & Robinson flagship shop on Grafton Street will be of any benefit to the new owners. A pharmacy which was a pleasure to shop in both for the quality of its staff and the beauty of its interior decoration and furnishings is being gutted and replaced by a white plastic nightmare.
While I disagree with Boots' desire to put its name over the door, I can understand why it would. But the sheer vandalising of a fine shop interior (only recently renovated itself) beggars belief. Has Boots no comprehension of the value of goodwill and familiarity, not to mention quality of design? - Yours, etc., Ivan Morrin,
