Sir, – For years now I have been under the mistaken impression that the problems with our economy were all caused by Lehman Brothers in the US. Now I understand how wrong I was. Apparently the entire problem was that the media were paying too much attention to Bertie Ahern in a tribunal when they should have been focusing on the economy (“Ahern says ‘incompetent’ media should be investigated”, Home News, October 19t).
I wonder if Mr Ahern has also considered blaming the leprechaun who ran away with the gold from the end of the rainbow. That’s also quite plausible. – Yours, etc,
