Sir, – On a trip to Dublin city centre today I was assailed by the pungent aroma of stale urine not once but three times. Firstly, on the Dart, where it was so overpowering I had to move seat. The second time was while walking through Temple Bar and finally, and most surprisingly, at the top of Grafton Street.
Some people worry what tourists must think about our smelly city but I care more about the regular citizen who has to deal with these noxious fumes as they go about their day. Can Iarnród Éireann and Dublin City Council please get their acts together to deliver effective cleaning programmes and save the noses of the citizenry. – Yours, etc,
JOHN FLEMING,
Killiney,
