Investing in Ireland’s future

New savings scheme should keep money at home

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir,- The recently touted State savings scheme needs to consider the potential for investing in Ireland. Many commercial semi-State bodies, infrastructure and development bodies, finance and advisory bodies, as well as universities, local authorities and housing bodies borrow money.

I would much prefer if the proposed scheme saw investment potential in these organisations, keeping money at home and investing in Ireland’s future. – Yours, etc,
