Sir, – When teaching in Nigeria in the early 1960s, I was impressed by the good, healthy teeth of many of the students. They would arrive in class each morning with chew sticks in their mouths, with which they would vigorously remove the remnants of their breakfasts.
Now that Mr Dyson has launched an electric toothbrush costing nearly €500, maybe there is an opportunity for an Irish entrepreneur to start importing chew sticks into Ireland. – Yours, etc,
